Yesterday, took almost two minutes to get hot water at this sink. Now - immediate. Game changer. Installation actually took 2-3 hrs, but mostly our mistakes/learning curve. We’ll be installing 2 or 3 more now, and expect it’ll take less than an hour for the next ones. Yes, totally confident in this unit, and from what I know about this company and their products, I’m a fan.

This mini tank electric water heater from Thermomate has exceeded my expectations. It's energy-efficient, saving me money on my electricity bill, and it's incredibly reliable. I haven't had any issues since installation. Great product!

I installed the Thermomate mini tank electric water heater in my small apartment, and it has been a game-changer! It heats water quickly and efficiently, providing just the right amount for my needs. Installation was a breeze, and the compact size is perfect for limited spaces.

I purchased this compact hot water tank for installation in the kitchen of a camper I'm building in a RAM ProMaster van. It was very easy to install and it heats up quicker than I anticipated it would. The water temperature appears to be just what I need for kitchen use. Because it is currently winter, I haven't yet had an opportunity to use it on a trip , but the ease of installation meant that it was simple to disconnect and bring into the house for the winter to prevent it from freezing.

I wanted a small, easy to install, water heater to fit under my kitchen sink to eliminate waiting several minutes for the hot water to reach the kitchen from the main 50 gallon tank located on the opposite side of the house. I considered going with the circulating pump, but that looked like a much bigger project. I did not need a large capacity tank, just enough "instant" hot water to fill the dish pan. The 1.5 gallon size looked ideal, plus the size dimensions fit the space available. After looking at several models and reading all the reviews I selected the Thermomate Mini Tank Electric water heater 1.5 gallons, based on price, quality, and the ability to service the internal components if needed. When I unpacked the unit I was immediately impressed with quality, feel, and appearance of the unit. I had read reviews of some of the other brands of mini tanks having problems with leaking connections. I had no problems at all, and the installation took less than an hour. The tank has 1/2" NPT nipples for both hot and cold. My existing faucet had a 3/8" OD fitting connected to the hot water supply line. I went to Home Depot and bought a new 16" long standard steel faucet hose with 1/2" FIP connection on one end and 3/8" OD connection on the other end. I connected the 1/2"FIP end to the "Cold Water" inlet nipple of the Mini Tank. No teflon tape or anything needed on the 1/2"NPT nipple. The 3/8" OD end of the hose connected to the hot water supply valve. For the "Hot Water" outlet side of the tank I bought a 12" long standard steel faucet hose with 1/2" FIP on one end and 3/8" OD on the other end. I connected the 1/2" FIP end to the 1/2" NPT nipple on the "Hot Water" side of the tank (no teflon tape), and bought a 3/8" OD male x 3/8" OD male connector to connect hot water outlet hose to the existing 3/8"OD hose from the hot water side of my faucet. With the water heater tank still unplugged, I turned the hot water supply valve on and opened the faucet to allow the Mini Tank to fill up and clear any crud from inside the tank (it looked crystal clear from the start). After a minute or two I shut the faucet off and checked all the connections ..... no leaks!!I plugged the unit into a Sengled WiFi Smart outlet so I can keep the power off when not needed. I set the temperature dial to 125 degrees and the Red power light came on. The light went out after about 10 minutes and I was pleased to find I had hot water as soon as I turned on my faucet!!I still need to connect the Pressure Relief Valve discharge port to the drain line. I plan to connect it to the drain line from the dishwasher. So far I couldn't be more pleased with the unit, the ease of installation, and simple operation. Hopefully it will give me several years of trouble free service.

I put this water heater under the sink in my outdoor kitchen. I was hoping to leave it at a very low setting to get warm water, but it appears to need to be on setting 2 (not 1) for me to be able to detect the difference between cold and hot water in my sink. Mind you - it has been hot here in Southern California, and I do notice more of a difference in the cool evenings. I contacted the seller, and they seemed open to an exchange, so I've decided to keep it. It's good enough for my bbq.

Works great but only after a call to Customer Support. Nowhere in the manual does it say to turn the rheostat to Max to get it to work.

We use this water heater in our concessions trailer and it is perfect for our needs! It heats quicky and produces enough water for a washing sink. It is compact and was easy to install!
Laura F.5/5Verified
The 1.3 gal. water heater works great. One of the best things about the under sink water heater is it eliminates the need to run a second water line from the larger water heater. Also, it is warm when the faucet is opened instead of waiting for the cold to flow through before the hot arrives which of course saves power and water.

This unit is a replacement and we love it. It's much smaller but still gives us hot wat on demand. Super easy to install. We use it in our master bath. We have more under sink room with this one.

Not hard to install and works great. If you are undecided between two sizes, get the biggest one that will fit.

Very fast delivery.

Thank you 😊👍

I didn't install it because it's way too large to go under my sink vanity and I have no other place to hide it in my tiny bathroom. Other than that, I'm sure it would work well.

This water heater works great to heat water for a hand washing sink in our Cafe.
David M.5/5Verified

Deivery of the point of use (sink) hot water heater was as promised. A local plumber was familiar with the installation, and it is working fine with a small solar system in an off-grid studio.
Joanne W.5/5Verified
Just installed it and so far it is doing what I had hoped it would. Faster hot water to my kitchen sink. Lets see if my water bill goes down now.

Works great. Would have been helpful to have in your instructions to install the pressure relief valve. Had some water spillage before I realized that it must be installed.

Great product; I’ve used on before. This application was wrong for it but keep up the good work..
Darryl W.5/5Verified
So far, it's working perfectly! I love being able to adjust the temperature with the knob. I have it set so that I just use hot water when washing my hands, so I don't even have to use any cold water. Love it!
